These passages were deeply shaded with little hiccups using the ball of the feet (quick quick!) in syncopation and brushes and hand claps thrown in for a surprise. Within 20 minutes I was drenched. As I looked around the class, maybe only one third of the class had enough technique to truly maintain the pace. The aggressive nature of this type of young Flamenco demands a very high level of training and stamina, and Susi and Eli were also very adept teachers, patiently breaking sections of the choreography down and repeating them tirelessly.   read more...
